Lake Superior Fishing Report on 12th Jun, 2026

Talk about unsettled weather! Today brought a mix of heavy downpours and sunshine every 1.5 hours. Water temps sat at a cold 46°F, but perseverance paid off.

Put a few nice fish in the boat today, highlighted by a solid pike that crushed a jig fly. We also had great numbers of brook trout caught and released right at the boat.

Lake Superior Fishing Report on 9th Jun, 2026

The autopilot feature on the motor guide xi5 is fabulous, makes fishing that much easier. they still don't jump into the boat but what fun would that be? I landed this beautiful pike at the mouth of the Nipigon River in murky water with a temperature of 59°F.

Lake Superior Fishing Report on 7th Jun, 2026

Scouting new water on the Nipigon River where Virgin Falls once stood before the hydro dams. Water temps ranged from 41°F to 51°F with high, fast-flowing water, but using the MotorGuide i5 anchor to have lunch in the middle of nowhere with my dad is very precious. No fish, but mapping transitions in the new rig, named OFFline, is how a guide prepares. They say a bad day on the water beats a good day at the office—and while this wasn't a bad day, it’s exactly why I’m launching this guiding venture: to trade the white-collar computer screen for nature. A safe, beautiful day. 🌲🛥️

Lake Superior Fishing Report on 6th Jun, 2026

Beautiful partly sunny skies today on the lower nipigon River. the water temperature was very cool at 49° c and the water level was quite high with a lot of strong current. Truth be told, a good day guiding in OFFline.

We had some hits and fast moving current and one of them took my swim bait and headed downstream at lightning speed quickly removing all my brand new line.
